Gellért Hill

Gellért hill is one of the most characteristic sights of Budapest, to say nothing of the fact that one of the most beautiful views over the capital opens from here. Gellért hill - often referred to as the gem of Budapest - and the nature conservation area that belongs to it have been part of the world heritage since 1987. Each year on 20 August the rockets of the ceremonial firework are launched from here. The Citadel, one of the most famous historical monuments found on Gellért hill can be connected to the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-49.
